Launching at 24
At 24, Ryan Wilson and his business partner successfully raised capital to launch The Gathering Spot in Atlanta. The company grew quickly and became a home base for the city's Black professional, entrepreneurial, and creative community.
What the club actually is
The Gathering Spot is a private membership network built around collaboration, connections, and experiences — a club in the traditional sense, but aimed at a membership that historically had access to very few of them. In a city where the Black professional class is both large and dispersed across the metro, a physical third place with a curated membership is genuinely functional infrastructure.
Why he sits in this index
Atlanta's advantage has always been proximity — Black people with money, influence, and ideas living in the same few miles. Wilson turned that proximity into an institution, which is a different and harder thing.
