40 Years Deep. Still Free. Still the Culture.

If there's one event every person in Atlanta needs to put on their calendar this spring, it's Sweet Auburn Springfest 2026. Celebrating its 40th anniversary, Atlanta's largest free multicultural outdoor festival returns to the heart of Black Atlanta on May 9–10, 2026 along the historic Auburn Avenue corridor.

This isn't just a festival. This is a homecoming. And year 40 is shaping up to be the biggest one yet.

The Historic Sweet Auburn District

For those who don't know — Auburn Avenue is hallowed ground. This is where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was born, where Ebenezer Baptist Church still stands, where Black Wall Street Atlanta lived and breathed during its peak. The district is home to the APEX Museum, the beloved Sweet Auburn Curb Market, For Keeps! Bookstore, and Pal's Lounge.

Springfest brings thousands of people back to these sacred blocks every year — and does it for free. That's the spirit of Sweet Auburn.
