One report, several scoreboards
The State of Black Georgia report, published by the Urban League of Greater Atlanta, tracks how Black Georgians are doing across economic, health, and civic measures, using a shared methodology rather than isolated statistics. That breadth is why it is the anchor source for this entry: it lets a reader see whether a single number is an outlier or part of a pattern.
Contribution and outcome are both real
Black Georgians are central to the state's economy as workers, founders, homeowners, and consumers. A documented gap in income or wealth accumulation does not contradict that contribution — the two facts describe the same population from different angles, and reporting that drops either half is describing something other than Georgia.
How to use this entry
Treat the report as a map, not a verdict. Read the measure being described, the year it covers, and the population it covers before quoting it. Where a figure is a gap, say which gap: income, wealth, homeownership, health access, and civic participation move differently and have different causes.
