Best Soul Food Plate
The plate that tastes like somebody's grandmother is in the back. Judged on the food, not the decor.
How this is decided
Nominations are reviewed by editors, duplicates are merged, and the winner is decided by a community vote across a published window. Ties break toward the nominee with the longer continuous history in metro Atlanta. Sponsorship never decides a result.
Who qualifies
Black-owned kitchens serving in metro Atlanta, including food trucks with a regular Atlanta location or route. Recently opened spots qualify; nobody has to have been around for a decade to be nominated.

This category is open and empty, which means the first nomination is a clean shot. Naming someone takes about two minutes, and an editor reviews every one before it appears here.
